This weekend escape is just over 2hrs south from Sydney.   There is plenty of accomodation in the area or you can just make it a long relaxing day trip. Make your way down the coast road to Kiama then Gerringong and over to Berry. With your textile taste buds satisfied, you can cruise up to Bowral for a late lunch on the way home.

Stop 1. Modern Quilt Show Australia, The Pavilion Kiama

Sydney Modern Quilt Guild and Wollongong Modern Quilt Guild are proud to present the 2019 Modern Quilt Show Australia! After a break in 2018 we’re teaming up to bring you another fabulous show, featuring the best modern quilts in Australia. We’ll be returning to our beautiful venue from 2015 – The Pavilion, Kiama. Be sure to look up the workshops available during the event. Show entry $8 pre-purchase online or $10 at the door.

Stop 2. Fabrication x 4 Fern Street Gallery Gerringong

Textile exhibition by four talented ATASDA NSW members Sandra Lyons, Chris Kondratenko, Denise Sargo and Robyn Eves called ‘Fabrications x 4’  will be held at Fern Street Gallery in Gerringong NSW.

Exhibition dates 5-18 August 2019, 10am-4pm Saturday-Sunday Free entry

Stop 3. The Berry Textile Exhibition Berry School of Art

The exhibition will feature many interesting exhibitions including works by the tutors at this year’s Berry Quilting Retreat and The One Red Thread Textile art prize will be a featured with the inspiration being an interpretation of ‘FractuRED’

Stop 4. Bowral

Today Bowral prides itself in its “sophistication” and its up-market boutiques, gift shops, antique dealers, restaurants and cafes, bookshops and art galleries. A beautiful spot for lunch, morning or afternoon tea and a wander through some antique stores before heading home.
